Pictures of his 27th

As I was uploading pictures from my blackberry to my computer, I came across this picture. Which reminded me how I have squeezed my brain juice to get a cake that will be memorable to him. Its his first birthday we celebrated together. His birthday falls on the 27th October 1982.

I rushed to Tampines One Mall to get his cake from Bakerzin. Many ideas had been flowing since days before. And finally I settled down with this design I did myself. There were a mix of cakes. Sumatra and the other one with roses, which I cant find the name from Bakerzin's website anymore. But they all tasted heavenly chocolatey.. Ooosh..

Beautifully decorated for Him. With lots of love.

Just like any other days

Chinese New Year was just ok for this year. As usual for the past decade it has always been, bland. Nothing to woo ha about.

But I just love my brother and sis-in-law who stayed over since Eve. Though we spend most of the time watching tv. But its simple peace and joy.

Jesus, Happy Chinese New Year. Please help to ask Satan get out of my life. He keep haunting me with those broken pieces among those suppose to be beautiful memories. I am exhausted.

Finally I have sent Chinese New Year First Day away. I think the happy First Days of Chinese New Year had died since my Grandma left too. Bye Bye..

Bangkok Trip Day 3

Hello people! I know its been quite some time since I blogged on the Second day of my trip. Chinese New Year is nearing, so how is ur spring cleaning? I did a wardobe clearing and cleaning this afternoon with hot sun shining into my room. Manz...its dehydration. Right back to Third day of my Bangkok Trip.

Breakfast at Samran place. We decided to have a break from American breakfast and chose food that are simple. Chicken rice noodles soup and Chicken Porridge. Hehe.. I thought my noodles tasted better than Dear's porridge.

And as we are nearing to the end of our trip, still unable to find my A&W restaurant, we opened our mouth and asked the hotel receptionist. She said its just nearby alittle further down from our hotel. Oh my god! Hence, without any hestitation, we sped up to find it after dressing up. And there we were!

We had the famous waffle ice-cream, twister fries and rootbeer float. This is A&W super waffle meal which costed $122 Baht. Hooray!~ Finally I had A&W after so many years! Since I was in lower primary school you know. Thats more than a decade!

He with decorative background. Missing it!

Slurp! Slurp!

That day, we went through the markets infront Pratunam Centre. Whereas Pratunam Centre itself has nothing much to shop around. We went passed Big C Shopping Centre as well. And there I bought my Mum a pair of shoes. I hope she likes it! Were initially from Baiyoke Garment Shopping Centre and Pratunam Markets. And as we reached opposite Platinum Mall, we came across this crepes roadside stall. So, we gave it a try. The aunties were friendly. however, I still prefer Platinum Mall basement level 's crepes stall.

Crossed the roads and found A&W at Pantip Plaza. I just have to take photo with the mascot. Its gone in Singapore you see.

Cheeky Cheeky!

Before we saw A&W, there were many roadside eating stalls infront of Pantip Plaza. We had some of it and mostly tasted delicious. But the best was still coconut ice-cream. We got it at 10 Baht. There were peanuts and nata de coco. Its definitely a great refreshing dessert! You cant miss it.

When the night started to fall, we went to Yaowarat, the Chinatown of Bangkok.

Dinner was at T&K Seafood. If you are taking cab, the cab driver will surely stop somewhere around here. Hence its not difficult to find. Look at that spread of food! Crabs, Shark's fin soup (Thick and hot!You can just spot the Shark's fin!) , large Steamed Fish and Kang Kong veggies. Wow! I am hungry now!

Muackz!~ And that kiss went to his favourite...

Steamed Fish! Looks great right? The whole dinner costed us 830 Baht. It maked the most expensive meal of our trip but I still think its worth it. hahaha...Look at that fish again!

Back to the bustling side, Siam Paragon's Gourmet Food Market. He was in a daze.

"Haiz..this is my last night and its ending..when am I coming again?..."

Outside Siam Paragon.

The loots from our 4 days 3 nights trip.

"Ah!"...

Another successful pose.

Bangkok Trip Day 2

Breakfast Time! We woke up almost 8am every morning. After lazing around on bed and washing up, we headed down for our breakfast. I was wondering how it will taste for our first morning at Bangkok...

American Breakfast Set 1, toast, jam and tea. With..

Scrambled egg, saugages and ham! Wow.. satisfying!

Dear Dear's omelette. At Samran place, there is no breakfast buffet style as it is a small hotel. While munching through our food, we realised that there is this practice. The Chinese are usually the ones who will wake up extremely early to start their day. And the later ones will be the Westerners.

We both agreed that the toast with jam was really good!

My face was as white as a sheet. I am missing the food real badly!

At the entrance. Him.

Me :) Yes. I was in my sleeping pyjamus. haha..

Dear Dear with his vintage coke drink at our massage place.

We chosen this which is located around the Asia Hotel where we found good reviews on this on the net. We decided on foot massage which costs 100 Baht each. Which means SG$4 +. I thought my masseur was not that good. She wore super low cut blouse which led me to think that perhaps thats why she did not want to give me a good service. She preserves her energy for the MEN. haha.. These were the thoughts that came across my mind. Dear Dear's one was an auntie. Very professional lo..

Still cannot be compared to SG's Far East Plaza second floor's Thai massage. But I must say its really cheap at Bangkok.

Look, he is just like a kid. Oh well, he has never seen the BTS train even he last stepped foot on Bangkok since 17 years ago. Understandable. haha..We walked around MBK to find the Dim Sum which cost only SG$0.50-$0.60.

And the famous shop is call Mr Meng!

If you have trouble looking for it which one of my friends complained, look for this mascot outside the shop. I was quite sad on the first day when we came to look for it as it was closed early for dinner. We looked at the notice pasted but it was in Thai and ended up we ate at Yum Saap Thai Restaurant which is just beside it. These 2 popular restaurants are located along the shopping path towards Tokyu Shopping centre. So, imprint this info into your brain system!

The menu. The most expensive dim sum is only in 22 Baht! Oh my god.. And Dear Dear was shocked and happy with such good treats.

We had fish maw soup, (the soup base was hot and thick!) custard buns, har gow, siew mai, fried dumplings..and there is this delicacy I must introduce.

The chrysanthemum tea is a must try! A little bland with sweetness staying on your taste buds. They put in lots of herbs to boil such a good stuff out. Oh manz.. There is nothing like this in SG alright. Even if there is, it sure cost a bomb. But here, you get it with reasonable price.

"Wa!.." hehe..gluttony..

At the new Shopping centre, Central World.

The shrine outside Central World. We walked through the markets and "whacked" the Platinum again. This time, we came up with a strategy route to conquer the big mall. Dear Dear said there were around 2000 shops inside. haha.. Shopping was great for the both of us as we need a change and topping up of Chinese New Year clothes. However the sad thing was Bangkok was not like before. Slashing of prices were difficult unless you are buying in wholesale. Else they will just ignore you and entertain the other customers. So sad! but its still cheap as compare to buying in SG la. Even at SG's bugis street ok. Because you cant get the same item at bugis street.

After the whole afternoon battle with shopping, we took a rest at the basement and enjoyed our crepes. The crepes was crispy and we had pork floss, ham and chocolate as ingredients. hehe..

I encouraged him to take a tuk tuk ride to hotel and unload our goods. Its 17 years ago la!.

We headed down to Suan Lum Night Market for food and shopping again. But this time round, shopping was far too expensive and unreasonable. Food was still alright and ex too. Suan Lum has changed ever since 3 years ago I went. The flyer was gone too. Happy faces of the stall holders were gone too... How time flies..

And this is our loots of second day. Anticipating the third day!
As usual, I am drooling at this hour to blog about food! Argh..

Bangkok Trip Day1

All right! Here I am, finally blogging on the days at Bangkok from 19th Jan 2010 to 22 Jan 2010. Right up, our first day, it began at Singapore airport, Terminal 1.

Before boarding at 7.15am, we feed on God's words for us.

At Terminal 1 Killiney Kopitiam. I thought this photo was the sweetest from all the photos taken during this trip. Even Dear Dear agrees.

When we reached our hotel, we saw this on the ceilling. So Dear Dear was excited to pose, it was his first time taking such photo pose. :P

Are you ready for the food? Yeah I know you are.

Lunch at Pizza Company. We were very hungry after 3 hours flight. Hence, we rushed down to one of the malls which is Siam Square and took Melissa's recommendations to try Pizza Company. We took the promotion set for 2. There is Rose Syrup Scallop Spaghetti,

Drumlets and Wings..

Tropical Ham pizza, there is pineapples, crabsticks and ham in it. With all these inclusive 2 soft drinks, the price is only 299 Baht for 2 persons! Which means, SG$13 for 2 and SG$6.50 for 1! Oh my god.. And the taste was great! Cheese that melts in your mouth and the crust was not as hard as Pizza Hut's. Really you cant give this a miss.

"How come so nice?!" :D

After fulfilling our stomach, we went visiting. My poor boy looked at how Bangkok has changed after 17 years...

Chinese New Year Decorations at Siam Paragon.

Outside Zen Plaza.

Outside Platinum Fashion mall.

Met my friend, Melissa the great introducer to BKK shopping and dinning!

Visited her hotel named Budacco. Its a new cosy hotel which is located right smack at the hearts of Baiyoke Garment Shopping and markets. A nice and cheap accomocdation with only 10 mins walk to Platinum too. Check it out at http://www.budacco.com/

After hours of shopping at Platinum Fashion Mall, we rested our feets at Swensens. We ordered fondue for 2 to try out. The price was SG$6+. But the chocolate and ice cream tasted far from SG's. However the ambience was great.

But I would still suggest to you to think twice before stepping in.

Dinner was at MBK's Yum Saap Thai Restaurant at Level 5. We had Seafood Stir Fried Noodles,

Fish Steak with fried rice and chicken soup set. Adding on with Chrysanthemum tea. Guess what? The whole 2 sets cost only 160 Baht! SG$7 for 2 and SG$3.50 for 1. :P

Our dinner just taste more than cheap and great. hehe..

Our loots for Day 1.

Oh my.. its really a torture to blog at such an hour on food. I miss the cheap and yummy food at Bangkok!
