Chinese New Year 2011 Day 1

I love Chinese New Year! When there is a variety of food and lots of them! Ba Gua (Roasted pig), Egg rolls, steamboat, dumplings, lo hei, many of these that will rarely appear everyday. :D

Eve of Chinese New Year, most important meal, Kor Kor came with Da Sao to stay over one night for Reunion Dinner. :) Loves!

He has been keeping this t-shirt I bought from HK! Open ceremony for this cute t-shirt, ushering the Chinese New Year!

Oh my god, Lo Hei! I love this! Especially the generous slices of salmon.

This year, we had steamboat. Last year we had hainanese chicken rice. Still a hearty one.

Fried dumplings! Mummy said we must have them every year as she thought they symbolises ingots.

Aww, so loving.

My dad loves to pose too. :)

After counting down to CNY, many of us went to dreamland in seconds. Tired from work.
When daybreak, Mummy has woke up early to cook carrot cake for us. Yummy. Mummy said it is another must have dish during new year as it symbolises prosperity.
Oh I miss this yearly breakfast so much!

After Kor Kor went home to prepare for Malaysia trip, the rest of us got ready for Auntie's home.
I have dyed my hair for light brown. But I did not highlight. Beats me for that strands.

In the evening, I went to Clarence Dear's house for dinner. Look, that were his artwork. Made from cheery tomatoes. I love eating yearly CNY dinner at bf's house. The dishes were also hard to come by in any other ordinary days. lol...

The Kids in the house.

And the adults watched us posing as rabbits for the Rabbit Year.

With his loves.

The naughty cheeky boys' family. Lol...

Frankly speaking, when we finished taking photos, it was only 9 plus. Many of us wanted to end the day with a movie but to no avail.
Ktv was expensive too.So we headed to Kovan's Xing Wang. It was crowded with all the night owls!

Min Jie and Peijie looking really demure. :P

Out of boredom, we decided not to leave the naughty boys out as they cant join us. They were asked to go home early by their parents. Hence we shared our supper photos with them. Whatsmore, whatsapp on iphone is free!

Clarence Dear's Mum joined in the fun too! The boys were really sad, each of them leaving remarks like "All of you are so bad!"

Final attack, using Tze Kai's favourite Har Gau and Siew Mai.

And pathetically, Tze Wei tried defending with empty cup, acting to drink coffee.
Lol...

Eve of CNY and Day 1 was a great fun annual event! yeah!

The little happiness

Saw Bebe at Serangoon MRT yesterday! So coincidental. I love such unexpected surprises. I felt that unarranged surprises are so magical. Its like fate brought us together at that moment, such unexplainable chemistry. :)

Bebe! See ya soon!

Falling sick for 1 week

I had fever on and off for the past 1 week. And its been 5 days I was absent from work. Getting a little worried when I am going back tomorrow. How I wish all the bitter hardships will be put to an end. This week is a night shift again...and I will be working 4pm-1am tomorrow... Sorrowful...
Like a wolf revealing under the moonlight, I felt abnormal every night shift of that week. When most humans work in the morning and I work in the night. If there are no nice colleagues in my office to accompany me through the hours... I wonder how I have survived till today...

Coughing and throat swelled for so many days, I had plain porridge for every meals. Yucks. For once, I miss the most simple menu on Mac Donalds. Fish burger.
I spent all my afternoons watching TV at home. All thanks to all free channels from Starhub. Or I will be bored to death. My friend, Weixiang came to visit me yesterday too. Bringing grapes and soya bean drinks. So nice of him. He was also here to do up his resume and accompanied me through the lazy afternoon. Phew. Time do passed speedily when there is someone to talk to. Thanks Weixiang...

Oh, tomorrow is so near... I shall begin my prayers again. Prayed that there are no difficult calls and I can return home safely and on time. God Bless Me...

Leading a busy city life, I still want to remember that I have a friend who cares about me when I am sick and he was a great travel companion too.
At least its proven, I am not anti social to a certain extent :)

Christmas 2010

On the 19th of Dec 2010, after we created a mess in my kitchen, I headed down to Donna Carmela, Hillcrest Park with Clar Dear and his cousins. It was one of the posh and expensive meal we had since ages ago. Food was splendid and wine was sweet, we had songs and went merry the whole night. Lets feast on the pictures of the event, Christmas!

This is call the Burrata. Some sort of cheese and it tasted spongy. It was my first time and I think its good enough as the cheese foul smell was not present.

White wine toasting. The kid behind us was obviously nonchalant.

Cheers to Christmas 2010!

MinJie and PeiJie.

With my pasta that contains 6 different types of mushrooms. I love mushrooms! But I prefer Clarence Dear's. Pasta with caviar. Ooosh..perfect match.

Macaroons, made by Peijie's friend.

The people who has left imprints on PeiJie's life :)

The friendly Italian singer who push our happiness to the climax.

Before the dinner, we had hours of baking cookies. Most of us going for the first try. :) And the one in yellow? The least contributor in the whole process. Lol...

I invited the cousins over to my place for baking session and I thought as it was our first time, we should not over estimate our capability. Hence, I chose the ready made cookie flour packet. But we still need to mix the butter, oil and eggs by ourselves.

The egg breaker, Tze Wei.

The first batch. It was quite oily. Afterwhich, we cut down on it.

Busy at work...

In the oven! Remember to drop dough size not larger than a 50 cents coin! It will spread out while heating.

The chocolate chunk dough.

Told ya, they spread out!

We tried out chocolate chunk and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. Oatmeal was not as sweet as chocolate chunk and it has a stronger butter taste.

Randomly, we added heart-shaped sugar decoration.

Into the christmas wrapper for our loved ones!

And on the Christmas Eve, we had even more fun gathering at Clarence Dear's Ah Ma's place. Everyone were present to exchange gifts and this involved the adults too. Uncles and Aunties. How heart warming can it be!

The funky cousins posing.

I love what cousin PeiJie gave to her parents. A cow shaped frying pan, mug and new bedsheet. So detailed and loving of her.

Auntie Patricia's bought vanilla log cake from Cedele.

The overwhelming gifts.
I chose Auntie Linda in drawing lots for exhange. Hence I bought an umbrella from Esprit which I thought it will be useful either in the sunny days or rainy days. She loves it so much. Dark purple pink in color and the material dries up fast if you use it in the rain.
Oh ya, I bought Clarence Agnes' b passport holder as his passport is going to tear anytime. I slotted a meaningful card to accompany him whenever he go overseas.
In exhange, he gave me a necklace from SK jewellery that is a cross in a heart. So nice! I will try to wear it often!

Tze Wei's mango cheesecake. He considered it a failed attempt as you can see, the sides were flowing over after the mould was taken out. He was disappointed but many of us like the taste. However, I dont like the thick mango puree. It was too sour for me.

Ta dah!

We ended the day with different new bought games. Sabborteur to Piss Artist and Drinking board games. I couldnt survive till the last game as I was dread tired from work previously. Hence, I was the first to sleep. Nevertheless, Christmas 2010 ended happily as I think this year, I have no hangovers and I really enjoyed family time. :)
Thanks to Clarence Dear and his wonderful family members for bringing so much joy to me. :) Love it.
