On the actual day, Dear Dear brought me out to buy my birthday present.

And I chose the red leather jacket from Esprit.

Food was just so - so only. But at least it was Dear's first time there.

That weekend, Kai and Jie had off days. We decided to seize the chance for a short trip out.

Forcing myself to bed....

This week's schedule is the worst. I got mon 7-4pm, tue to wed 4-1am. Thur off, Friday 7-4pm, sat off n sun 4-1am.
N here I m... Forcing myself to sleep after working for 2 weeks of night shift, I m already used to sleeping at 3 am plus... What the hell...

How I wish today is TGIF for me

It's Friday but it's never the TGIF feeling for me ever since holding this job. A shift job...
It's another night shift from 4pm-1am today...I was thinking of reporting sick due to my running sinus now. Tolerable and given that I have taken lots of mc too... So I forced myself to forsake the idea.
The fear and negatives of night shift are flooding in and I only have watching tv continuously to numb my thoughts and stop them from accepting the negatives...
Holding on to this job is no longer favourable. Thankfully I have made a decision. My Lord will see me through.

Valentine's Day 2011

This year, we kept it simple. And I told him not to buy any gifts for me. However, Dear Dear still made me happy and brought me to this Japanese Restaurant that we have not eaten before.

That day, I do not have to work. Dear came over to my house and brought me out. :)

Before we went out, I gave him a small gift. A card and Royce bitter chocolates.

The rose you saw in the picture is just a prop. hehe..it was last year's gift from Dear to me.

I forced a smile on him as we were travelling down to Clarke Quay on the train.

Time to feed our stomachs! Making a wise choice...

The name of this restaurant is Santouka. Well recommended on one of the magazines Dear read.

I ordered the best recommended meal. Ramen with Pork cheeks meat.  

Their soup base is a secret recipe. Nice and thick broth!

Pork Cheek meat is tender soft and well marinated!

Dear Dear ordered chicken ramen.

Lol... only the Japanese soft egg tasted the best from his order. He regretted that he did not order mine. Lol...

We had Gyoza too. Cripsy!

I left the last piece for him. And look at his face. He was admiring it.

First, he bathed the meat with the thick ramen soup.

And here is the second time...

All right, now that the meat has absorbed the soup, into his mouth it goes. Mmmm...

"Heavenly delicious!"

Santouka at Clarke Quay Central. There will always be a long queue at around 6pm.

Next for our desserts,  we had ice cream.

Arh! :) Strolling to Raffles City and meet his cousin, Peijie to help out with her Apple Laptop repair at Nubox.

The end of the day. Simple but I like. Because we tried out 2 new places we had never been before. And its difficult to find a good ramen restaurant.

It was a happy day!

The Old Malayan Cafe

I have been recently hooked by the delicacies provided from this little shop, at Somerset 313 and Tampines Mall.

This is the little cafe located at the basement of Tampines Mall. It will always be crowded.

These are what a 3 person gang had eaten at Somerset 313 basement.

The 1st priority must order : Prawn Mee! The soup is heavily flavoured with prawn taste and its satisfying for your taste buds :)

Wanton Mee. The wanton is crispy! Mee not too difficult to chew. hehe.. Not bad.

Chicken rice that comes with chicken rice balls. Cute right? But its only cute for the eyes. Nothing taste great as compared to the 2 dishes above.

Clarence Dear asking " Why do you always propose to eat Pontian but always did not order their recommendation, wanton mee?"

See? I always order Ipoh Hor Fun, 4 times out of my 6 visits? Hehe...

The total price of 2 persons' Prawn Mee and Ipoh Hor Fun.

Overall, you must try! Better to start off at Somerset's. I think there is a better cook over there as compared to Tampines.
